70 years of History
Hiroshima - 1995
La Cigale de Lyon has had the honor of singing before renowned personalities such as De Gaulle, François Mitterrand or Pope John Paul II. The choir has also been invited to many commemorations or international events:
  • It represented France during the D. Day commemoration, on the sixth of June, 1994.
  • At the request of UNESCO, it represented both France and Europe in Hiroshima during the 1995 commemorative ceremonies.
  • It participated in the G7 closing concert in Lyon in 1996.
  • It appeared in the concert organized by J.M. Jarre when the Pope visited Lyon.
  • It took part in the 80th anniversary of the 1918 Armistice Day.
